چکیده

Operating a robot in the micro/nano-world presents challenges not found in the macro-world. Due to the small dimensions, the operator has no direct access to the objects and must assemble them by teleoperation. To allow a good manipulability, we propose a mixed teleoperation system which is composed of both direct and taskoriented teleoperation modes. The operator is provided with a set of visualization and manipulation tools on a workstation. This paper presents the micro-robot system, discusses some important isues in micro-teleoperation and finally presents some micro-manipulation tasks performed

A Virtual Reality Teleoperator Interface for Assembly of Hybrid Mems Prototypes

In this paper we describe a teleoperated microassembly workcell that integrates a VRML-based virtual microworld with visual servoing micromanipulation strategies. Java is used to program the VRML-based supervisory interface and to communicate with the microassembly workcell. This provides platform independence and allows remote teleoperation over the Internet. A key aspect of our approach entai...

Status driven teleoperation system: a new paradigm and an application to the microworld

This paper proposes a third generation teleoperation system based on a status driven slave symbolically instructed by the master control panel. Furthering the first generation joint-angle control techniques and second generation coordinate transformation techniques, this system recognizes the target status specified by the operator by extracting the task status from visual sensors. The task env...

Delay-dependent stability for transparent bilateral teleoperation system: an LMI approach

There are two significant goals in teleoperation systems: Stability and performance. This paper introduces an LMI-based robust control method for bilateral transparent teleoperation systems in presence of model mismatch. The uncertainties in time delay in communication channel, task environment and model parameters of master-slave systems is called model mismatch. The time delay in communicatio...

Invited article: a review of haptic optical tweezers for an interactive microworld exploration.

This paper is the first review of haptic optical tweezers, a new technique which associates force feedback teleoperation with optical tweezers. This technique allows users to explore the microworld by sensing and exerting picoNewton-scale forces with trapped microspheres. Haptic optical tweezers also allow improved dexterity of micromanipulation and micro-assembly. One of the challenges of this...
